One of the most commonly asked questions I get asked is “is my loved one that just passed away ok?”. Pretty much universally, the answer is yes. Regardless of how they passed. Regardless of what their life on Earth was like. Regardless of whether it was your pet or your great uncle or a mouse on the road. Yes, that includes people that chose to leave Earth early. Yes, that also includes folks of questionable morality and ethics.
How does that work? Fair warning: this is partially my belief system and partially answers I’ve gotten from the dowsing rods through my sessions. Please don’t take this information as absolute truth – if it doesn’t make sense to/for you, that’s ok! It’s your journey and you get to decide what’s right for you.
First, there is no such thing as “hell”. We all end up in the same place in the afterlife. I prefer to think of it as heaven, but what you expect to find on the other side is likely what you’ll experience. Just after passing, we go through a period of reintegration and healing. Life on Earth is pretty dense and can be rather challenging. Going from this dense, heavy existence to suddenly being very light and airy requires some adjustments. There’s varying opinions on how long this takes, but measured in Earth time, it’s generally 3 days +/-. (Also, time doesn’t exist on the other side the way we think of it, so it’s much quicker to experience it once you get there). A “life review” can happen at this point. It’s more or less a recap of what lessons you’ve learned – or didn’t. It can touch on your impact to others. There’s no external judgement in this review, it’s simply reviewing what is and what is not. After that, it’s up to each soul what they want to do. You can stay spirit side and can continue to fulfill what is or you can choose to come back to Earth or go to another incarnation elsewhere. It is entirely up to you.
So what about all of us that are left here on Earth? One of my favorite things to do is ask spirit for a sign they are ok! You can ask your passed on loved one for a sign (yes, even your dog or cat that’s in spirit). It doesn’t matter how long ago they passed (the only exception being in that first 3 days +/-, but please don’t take this as a hard and fast rule, it really does vary by soul and there are always exceptions). So grandma that passed a decade ago can send you a sign just as well as somebody you lost last week.
To ask spirit for a sign, pick something out of the ordinary and specific. Don’t forget to time bound it. The example I always suggest to people is to ask for a purple elephant to be shown to you in the next week (please do give spirit a chance to respond, making something happen in 5 minutes is tough!). Cardinals are an incredibly common sign. It can be something special that you and them only knew about or it can be wild and full of imagination, it’s totally up to you.
After that, be open to receive it however it may come through. It could be that a commercial on the radio is talking about purple elephants. It might be that a child hands you a drawing. It might even be a cloud with the light shining just right at sunset. Once you see it, take it at face value and don’t doubt it.
Spirit wants to talk to us and be here to comfort us. Spirit is pure love energy, so please don’t be shy. Once you get your sign too, be sure to track it in your x-files. You can also try using dowsing rods to talk with spirit or a number of other divination tools (I also like tarot and oracle cards) if that’s of interest to you.
Have you received a sign from a passed love one? What was the sign they sent you? Let me know in the comments!
