The Dowsing Rods on the Red Carpet

I’ve always been skeptical of people when they said you can be anything you want. I feel like I’ve unlocked that manifesting secret and I’ve ended up in some seriously cool places. I’m not sure I’ll ever make it as an astronaut, but I also don’t think that’s something I want. What I didn’t know was that I wanted to be on the red carpet… which is exactly where I ended up this week. I also got to do a brief stint in acting – sort of. And by brief, I mean like for 10 minutes.

The world of Hollywood is pretty foreign to me. I used to love watching movies, especially before social media took off. Friday nights at blockbuster were my thing growing up. So part of the homework I assigned myself before heading to Los Angeles was to watch the prequel to the movie I would be attending. To my surprise, I found it incredibly difficult to sit and watch an entire movie. I guess that can be partially faulted to the shorter attention spans social media is driving us towards. Regardless, I watched the whole thing.

I got to participate in the movie in two ways. The first part was on the junket. The junket is typically when the press gets to interview the actors (aka the talent). I had zero clue what to expect here, so my nerves were high. I got the opportunity to interview one actress for my channel, but my interview was a bit atypical. I used my dowsing rods to connect with spirit on camera while asking questions, that part was all very real and I actually was connected with spirit. I got a trial at the acting part when I was remembering what questions I had intended to ask as well as being scared by a surprised guest. I’ve got to say, having a whole crew of cameramen, sound, directors, and various other support was not something I could have prepared myself for. I haven’t seen the footage yet, but I’m sure it was quite apparent that I was nervous.

The second part of the day was the red carpet walk ahead of the movie. I got to be in the “press pit”. There was a fence between the press and the talent as they walked through the red carpet on the way to the premiere. There was a bunch of us in the pit – probably a dozen or so different news outlets and media channels and we each had about a foot (12 inches) of space at the fence. During the red carpet walk, I got the opportunity to interview some of the actors, the writer, and one of the producers. Each interview lasted between 3 and 5 minutes and I got to ask between 1 and 3 questions. It was kind of a fun novelty for the folks I talked with. From what I can tell, they’ve never seen dowsing rods on the carpet. Most thought it was fun. There were a few folks that did not want to participate in a reading. Those that did not want to just did not come up to chat with me, no big deal! So it goes out in the rest of world with my work too, I don’t take it personally.

After the red carpet walk, everyone that worked on the film took a quick group photo then proceeded into the theater. I hadn’t appreciated this before, but most movie premiers happen at the Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard and just walking into the space had a very obvious feeling of the rich history. It felt like a family inside that theater just for the night, even though I’d never met anyone before. Who knows if I’ll ever meet them again. The energy was so high and excited and inclusive.

The dowsing rods have taken me some seriously cool places. I got to add this one to my bucket list and immediately check it off. 10/10 recommend going if you ever get the chance!

Have you ever gotten to go to a movie premiere? What was the energy like for you?

  1. Never like that but I’ve waited on some movie stars Keanue Reeves for one. Made him a drink at the Mazda raceway and made drinks for several other celebrities. Also years ago I road in a corvette with a stand in for Burt Reynolds’s as a hot blonde😱😂 that was fun
