Mercury Retrograde. Strawberry Lemonade. This one in particular has been a doozy.
So what exactly is Mercury Retrograde? It’s essentially an astrological optical illusion. Mercury appears to “move backwards” in the sky because of it’s orbit being closer to the sun – it’s lapping Earth. Retrograde occurs for roughly 3 weeks at a time, 3 to 4 times a year. Mercury is known to rule communication, transportation, and technology. It’s a period that has become a notorious hot bed of communication and technological failures. Because of this backwards movement, it also becomes a time of “re” – redoing, rehashing, revisiting, rethinking, repairing, reviewing. It’s an excellent time to catch mistakes and to fix them.
This last retrograde has had me in a tizzy too. I’ve had a gas leak in my house. My dishwasher started throwing error codes. My car’s service light refuses to go out, despite resetting it and having it serviced. My email newsletter has been failing to send. Instagram live failed and posts have been going haywire. Client session calls dropped or fail to connect. I’m sure there’s a few I’m missing in here, but you get the point.
It’s also brought up a lot of feelings and memories from the past. Shadows that need working through. Energies to let go and move on from. Those unresolved issues themselves can be a lot to work through without new things going wrong. Make sure you give yourself space as triggering issues (physical or emotional) come up. It’s better to ride the waves of the sea of energy than trying to fight it. It really is an ocean out there.
