I was attacked in my sleep last night. I was in the astral, which means my soul was out of my body. (If this is a new concept to you, check out this post on astral projection). I was in a hotel in my dream and had this urgent need to open the front door. There was a cat on the other side that desperately needed to get inside. I had to unlock the door and as soon as I did, a very dark figure, roughly human sized came at me and attacked me. At this point I was surprised and shaken and my awareness was shot back into my body – my soul hadn’t caught up yet though. In the space between my soul coming back, but my awareness being in my body, I became aware of an energy attached to my side. A lot of folks would call these demons; I just call it annoying. The energy was roughly the size of a child, maybe a one year old.
I’m not exactly sure what it was doing there – possibly trying to steal some of my energy. In that moment, my soul came crashing back into my body and I went through a moment of weird, involuntary jerking. From the outside, I would guess it probably looks like a seizure, but it doesn’t last for more than a split second. This only ever happens when the sleep to waking state transition is clunky. As soon as I was aware of this energy, I immediately shook it off and it disappeared instantly. I took a moment to reorient and get my wits about me. I realized that in this moment, I also heard a very clear, audible hissing sound. I’m unclear if this was from the soul transition or from the entity. I do think it could be either – I’ve heard that astral traveling can include a vacuum like noise when moving in and out of the body. If I were to pick one, I’m fairly certain the noise came from the energy, especially with this claircognizance or clear knowing feeling in the dream that it was a cat I needed to let in.
I share all of this because 1) it happens to rarely that it’s fascinating and notable and 2) so that you know that it does not have to be a big scary thing that prevents you from doing your own spiritual work. In the years I’ve been working with the dowsing rods, this is maybe the third or fourth entity I’ve consciously encountered. I’ve certainly had run ins with others in this lifetime, but I did not have the language or awareness to understand what was going on at the time. No matter what, you are the most powerful being and you own your space.
