A few days ago, I was in the kitchen putting away dishes when a screw fell out of one of the hinges on my cabinet doors. “No big deal, I’ll screw it back in.”
I bend down to find the screw, but it’s nowhere to be found. “Greeaattt..” Since I am the dowsing rod girl, I got out my dowsing rods to have spirit point me towards the lost screw. I ask spirit for help and they point me directly towards the fridge. “Is the screw under the fridge?” “Yes, thank you”. Oh no. (Here’s some instructions on how to use the rods if you’d like some help getting started)
I bend down and turn on my phone light to try and see if I could see it. No luck. I get out the broom and a square and a plethora of other flat, long things to see if I can manage to sweep it out blindly. Still no luck. I decide to deal with it another day, the cabinet will be fine.
The next day, I sit down near the fireplace. Mind you, the fireplace is the complete opposite direction from the fridge relative to where I was standing and from where I heard the scream go. I look down. Sitting perfectly on the brick is the missing screw. “How on earth did you get there?!”
I quickly go find a toothpick and break off the end into the cabinet screw hole and proceed to screw the hinge back into the door. (This is my favorite quick way to fix a stripped hole by the way! If you’re feeling really fancy, you can put some wood glue on the toothpick too)
So how did the screw end up there? This is what is commonly called a “glitch in the matrix”. A glitch in the matrix is exactly that.. basically the laws we know of physics, time, and space are all broken. I tend to think that this little screw went through a wormhole or portal of sorts to travel to the other side of the room. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that I was on a different timeline when I lost the screw and nature had to correct itself and put the screw back where it belonged… sort of.
This is not the first time this has happened to me, nor will it be the last I’m sure. Finding things in places I did not leave them. Things seemingly disappearing for good, only to find them years later. Getting somewhere far faster than should be possible – or losing several hours along the way. I’ve experienced it all, but brushed it off to my imagination at the time because I didn’t know what had happened.
If you like these kinds of stories, I’ve spent many nights reading similar accounts from people on Reddit under the sub r/glitch_in_the_matrix
Have you experienced a glitch in the matrix before? I’d love to hear your story!
