Akashic Records

I shared this photo on Instagram stories the other day and mentioned that this is what the Akashic records look like to me.

Many of you were excited to inform me that this is the library at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. I’ve never been to this library before, so it’s certainly been added to my list of places to visit! It looks absolutely magical – and it must be because a lot of you visit somewhere very similar looking when in the Akashic records.

So what are the Akashic records? It’s the records of everything everywhere that’s ever happened including both the past and future. They are huge, expansive, and never ending. It’s quite neat and incredibly healing to visit them.

One of the things that I love about the Akashic records is that there is a record for literally everything. You can open the Akashic records of your house (and I have!), for yourself, your pets, that tree outside, and Mother Earth herself.

To get there, I use the technique developed by Linda Howe in her book How to Read the Akashic Records. Just a note prior to pursuing her method – this technique requires some rituals that may or may not align with you. You must be sober of any mind altering drugs and alcohol for 24 hours prior to accessing the records (*except those substances required for medical reasons). If that’s not something that aligns with you, I’d still recommend the book to understand the records and you can use alternative methods to get to the records instead. The prayer to enter the records is also available here if you’d like an on-the-go version, but please read the book prior to using the prayer as it requires some explanation.

One of the great things about the book is that it provides meditations along the way – which is how I got into the records of my house. She also covers some of the ethics of going into the records. For example, you can go into the records of your dwelling because you have some sort of jurisdiction or authority to be there (such as owning or renting). It’s also expected that you’ll ask permission prior to entering the records that are not your own personal soul records, regardless of your authority over them. This holds true for any sort of energy work or reading, regardless of modality or practice. You can ask to go into records of others, but it’s best to have verbal or written permission before asking on the spirit side to explore.

After you’ve entered the records, you can start exploring! When I entered my house’s records, I asked if the house was open to have some work done on it to make things nicer. I got a “yes” from the house, which was lovely to hear. I was also glad to have permission from the house; I always presumed it was ok, but it never crossed my mind to ask.

The Akashic records are also great for exploring past or future lives; it’s very simple to ask to see any of your past lives and to have the book shown to you. Often, spirit will hone in on what you need to see, but you can also ask detailed and specific questions if there is something you want to know.

As of late, I’ve been using the records for healing. I bought another one of Linda’s books – Healing Through the Akashic Records – and find this to be both effective and efficient for healing. Sometimes, just knowing the information is enough to make the healing happen and sometimes, just being in the records is enough to make it happen.

Have you been in the Akashic records before? What was your experience like?

    2. Hello Megan, I was not aware that’s a useful prayer to access the records. Sadly, I, too, am unable to open your link to access the prayer to enter the records.
